Dr. Cezar Catrinescu is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field chemical and environmental engineering .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Catrinescu earned his chemical engineer diploma in 1995, followed by his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering<\/strong> from the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi (TUIASI) in 2004. In 2021, he obtained his Habilitation Certificate in Chemistry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Dr. Catrinescu serves as an Associate Professor<\/strong> and PhD Supervisor<\/strong> at TUIASI, where he teaches and conducts research in subjects such as Environmental Catalysis<\/strong> and Materials Science<\/strong>. His teaching journey has included a position of invited professor at the Universidade da Madeira<\/strong> in Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Catrinescu’s research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis and photocatalysis<\/strong>, particularly for wastewater treatment and the catalytic conversion of biomass-derived molecules. He has been involved in over 29 national and international projects<\/strong>, serving as project leader for 6<\/strong> of these initiatives, including programs funded by TEMPUS and MARIE-CURIE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Catrinescu works as the Director of the Coordination Council for Doctoral Programs<\/strong> at TUIASI since 2024 and is a member of the International Scientific Committee<\/strong> for the International Conference in Environmental Engineering and Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Catrinescu’s expertise extends to analytical techniques, where he has been responsible for GC-MS analysis at the Laboratory for Analysis and Control of Environmental Factors (LACMED) since 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has published 3 authored books and over 70 articles, with approximately 45 of those in ISI journals. His scholarly work has garnered significant recognition, with over 1500 citations on Scopus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Catrinescu is also dedicated to the scientific community as an invited reviewer for ISI journals and an evaluator for UEFISCDI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At ICEEM13 Assoc.prof.dr. Cezar Catrinescu will deliver a keynote lecture in the field of Water and wastewater cycles in the context of circular (bio)economy entitled:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
