PETRU PONI INSTITUTE OF MACROMOLECULAR CHEMISTRY, IASI, ROMANIA

Dr. Marcela Mihai is the Scientific Director of Petru Poni Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (PPIMC), Iasi, Romania, and a member of its Scientific Council (since 2015). She is the Head of Laboratory of Functional Polymers of PPIMC (since 2016), a laboratory highly
recognized for its contributions in the synthesis, characterization, and applications of polyelectrolytes and polyelectrolyte complexes, as well as for those on surface modification.
The main research topic is related to linear/cross-linked ionic polymers – synthesis, characterizations, application; complex multicomponent systems based on natural and synthetic polyelectrolytes. Studies in the field of composites obtained by iomineralization
were awarded with “Costin D. Nenitescu” Prize of the Romanian Academy in 2014. She is member (since 2004) and General Secretary (since 2021) of Romanian Chemical Society. She has the following scientifci portfolio: Articles
published in peer-reviewed journals: 85 (77 in ISI indexed journals). Books and chapters published by Publishing Houses recognized at national /international level: 1 book, 4 edited books, 6 chapters; Patents (national): 2; Conferences/key-note lectures presented at international/national conferences: 22; Research and development projects based on
international and national grants: 18 projects, out of which: 3 international grants.
